Installation and testing of grating electronic ruler

1. Installation position:

1. The working length of this sensor should be greater than the maximum stroke of the machine tool to avoid damaging the optical ruler.

2. For the sensor installation plane, as long as it is a non-machined surface, a gasket or a user-made mounting block must be added to the sensor body surface to ensure the stability and reliability of the connection between the sensor and the installation surface.

3. When installing the sensor, the parallelism between the sensor body and the machine tool guide rail is less than 0.1MM, and the maximum does not exceed 0.15MM. When the working length of the sensor body is greater than 1000MM, a mounting block should be added to ensure the parallelism between the sensor body and the guide rail.

4. The two sides of the reading head should be parallel and symmetrical to the sensor body surface. The height gap between the reading head and the sensor body is between 0.

8MM-1MM. Use a pad to adjust the gap during installation, and remove the pad after installation.

5. The fixation of the signal line must take into account all relevant moving distances. The fixed position should be as close to the center of the stroke as possible, and the excess wires should be tied and fixed.

6. The grounding wire connection should be right-side, and the grounding resistance measured by a multimeter must be less than 10Ω

Comply with the Abbe principle as much as possible; ensure good relative movement between the reading head and the housing; avoid direct contamination and do not hinder operation.

2. Installation precautions

1. The sensor opening direction must avoid contact contamination from iron filings, oil, water, dust, etc.

2. After the sensor is installed, it is best to install a dust cover and leave a 0.5MM gap between the ruler body. Avoid the dust cover and the ruler from contacting when moving the reading head.

III. Detection method

First, the parallelism of the sensor and the guide rail should be corrected to ensure that it is within 0.10MM. Then open the digital display box, start the machine tool, and observe whether it counts normally. If it does not count, carefully check the connection between the digital display box and the sensor. If it counts, move the reading head to one end of the shell, set the digital display box to zero, move the reading head, and observe the display value of the digital display box compared with the standard reading value. It should be within the error range. If it exceeds the tolerance, carefully check whether the installation size and position meet the requirements.

IV. Maintenance and care

1. The sensor and digital display (box) should be placed on the machine tool in a dry and temperature-appropriate position.

2. The lead-out cable should be fixed on the machine tool.

3. The sensor should not be disassembled arbitrarily during use.

4. The connecting screws should be tightened and not loosened to avoid loss of accuracy.

5. The instrument should be kept clean. If the dustproof rubber at the opening is stuck with sand and debris, it should be wiped off with soft paper. Be careful not to wipe it into the instrument. After one year of use, the inner surface of the shell should be wiped with dry and clean gauze or cotton dipped in a little alcohol and ether mixture. Do not wipe it again to prevent surface damage.
